Hey Haskellers, I’m starting a new Haskell Meetup in the SF Bay Area. If you’re in the bay area and are using Haskell, please sign up below. It will be great!

The meetup will be around 2h and we’ll have two different talks. It will be focused on the real world use cases of Haskell (especially web dev) and less on category theory. The event is still in the early stages of planning, so things are up to change.

Location: to be announced, likely in SF (if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Ideally at some company using Haskell. digitally induced sadly doesn’t have a bay area office yet)

Thank you for organizing, looking forward to it!

If I might make two suggestions:

  • please include all the content from the Google doc in the Discourse post. This is one area where an extra layer of indirection is going to lose people that otherwise would have come
  • please also consider creating an event about this on Meetup / Eventbrite. The site you chose is too flashy and too new and requires phone number to register, which might turn people away, given the prevalence of pig butchering scams that are now happening.

Thanks for the suggestions! Just updated the post to include all the information.

Will check out meetup as well. Last time I used it, it cost money to organize an event. But I get the point that partiful might be too fancy. As a workaround right now people can just email me if they want to join in and don’t want to use partiful
