Recently there’s been a discussion around deprecating SafeHaskell, and this year deep subsumption was semi-deprecated.
I am curious whether the myriad features that Haskell has incur a noticeable maintenance burden on Haskell?
Personally, I’d be willing to forgo some less-used features if it would improve GHC devs’ lives.
I am starting this thread because I am interested:
- How much maintenance burden is incurred by the pick-and-mix style language extension set
- Whether any extensions are right for the chop
Perhaps also there are non-extension features that are not great on the cost-benefit curve.
