# Looking to improve build times for beam users

Hello,

Following recent discussions around Scarf moving away from Haskell, I am planning to try and improve build times for other users of the database library [`beam`](https://github.com/haskell-beam/beam).

Ultimately, using `beam` means trading build times with correctness, but maybe there are low-hanging fruits that are pure wins.

[I have created an issue to benchmark the compilation of user code](https://github.com/haskell-beam/beam/issues/824). If you use `beam`, please consider contributing an example that is reflective of your usage, so we can ensure that build times remain acceptable
