The proposal for adding multiline string literals has been accepted!

> The \[proposal\](https://github.com/ghc-proposals/ghc-proposals/blob/master/propos…als/0569-multiline-strings.rst) has been accepted; the following discussion is mostly of historic interest.
>
> Resolves #260.
>
> Doesn't address QuasiQuote deprecation because ~~I disagree that QuasiQuotes are \*\*only\*\* useful for multiline strings; QuasiQuotes are being used for much more than multiline strings~~ that can be a separate proposal \[^1\].

> \[^1\]: I originally didn't understand what the relation was; I now understand that it's due to the fact that \`\[foo|...|\]\` could be written with \`$(foo """...""")\`; the only thing restricting it before was lack of multiline support

If anyone has any tips for implementing this in GHC, send them my way!

Acceptance date fixed, good spot!

Thanks @brandonchinn178 for pushing this proposal through and working on the implementation.
