# About this forum

Haskell is a statically typed, pure, functional programming language.

Any discussion about Haskell is welcome on this forum. In particular the following topics are encouraged:

- Announcements about new libraries and applications
- Links to blog posts
- Requests for help

## Email integration

We have now configured Discourse to integrate better with email.

- You can reply to email notifications to post replies to topics.

- You can, also by mail, “like” a post by replying with `+1`.

- You can enable “Mailing List Mode” in your notification settings to get an email for every post (like a mailing list).
