Hey folks! I’m chairing the 2026 Haskell Symposium, which will be held August 28-29 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, co-located with ICFP 2026. This year, we have two great keynote talks, and lots more.
I’d like to invite you to sign up to give a lightning talk at the Symposium! A lightning talk is an informal 5-to-10-minute presentation on a topic relevant to (some part of) the Haskell Symposium community. Lightning talks do not appear in the published proceedings and are not subject to a rigorous review process. We hope to be able to make room for all lightning talks, but we may do some light vetting of submissions for suitability. Contributions from students and industry developers are particularly welcome.
Niche and/or cursed topics are encouraged!
You can submit lightning talk proposals up until the last minute, but it would help us out immensely if you register your interest by August 10, so that we can plan for enough time. All you are required to provide is your name and email address, a talk title, which day you’d prefer to do your talk, and whether or not you consent to your talk being recorded. You can also provide an abstract and additional information, but that’s optional.
Regardless of whether you sign up to give a lightning talk, I hope we’ll see you in Indianapolis! (By the way, if you’re on the fence about attending ICFP and/or the Haskell Symposium, note that the early registration rate ends on July 25, so if you’re going to sign up, now’s the time.)
