I have an offer to write a book on AI-assisted coding with Haskell. I don’t think I have time to write the whole book, so I’m looking for a co-author. To express interest, please reply to this post with some information about yourself and any questions you may have. Thanks.
I suggest writing a few words about yourself so that prospects have more information about what they are signing up for :-).
Good idea! I’m the author of several books including “Java For Dummies,” “Quantum Computing Algorithms,” and “Concise Guide to the Internet of Things.” I love teaching Haskell, so I’m pleased that a little-known publisher is interested in my writing this book. But I have other commitments right now, so I don’t want to promise to meet the publisher’s deadlines on my own.
It occurred to me that this post may look like a scam. I have two things to say about that. First, my agent is affiliated with the Waterside agency. She has already checked the single-author contract, and she’ll check a co-author contract too. Second, this is what we call “traditional publishing” not “self-publishing,” and an author should never pay any money or commit anything up front (other than time and work) in order to have a traditional-publishing book written. The agent takes 15% percent of any royalties, but that’s OK because those funds flow from the publisher. If anyone posts something like this, and asks you to pay up front for anything, you should walk away.
