Of course your perfect right. “Parentheses” is U.S. usage; “brackets” is Brit. Sense 5 here.
“Parentheses” means just Either of a pair of brackets, especially round brackets, ….
Since we’re talking parsing, and each form of bra… parens means something different in Haskell, I’d always qualify with ‘round’, ‘square’, ‘curly’, ‘angle’, …
