Hello again,
Last month had a couple infrastructure things.
- Found a pattern of stupid bot requests that seemed designed to bust caching. (I must use Hanlon’s razor… I must use Hanlon’s razor…) By setting up a very simple mitigation, I reduced the the biggest source of network egress active at that point in time.
- Continued modularizing deployment config. Walking the path to more frequent system updates.
There was also some communication work: the yearly log I just wrote, light interaction with the discussion on GHC’s LLM policy, and some discussion on compile times.
This month, I am prioritizing the wiki, which had a bad month of July. I’ve already made some changes I will discuss next time, and I will continue to monitor it.
Assuming the wiki does stabilize, I will continue to assist with the bad state of gitlab.haskell.org.
