The Paris Haskell meetup is back for Spring, in partnership with HackENS, ENS Ulm’s hackerspace.
This will be the occasion to see each other, talk about the new things happening in the ecosystem, and spend time quality time together.
Whether you are a professional programmer, a researcher or a hobbyist, you are welcome!
Amongst other things, we will talk about upcoming features in GHC, the Pure Borrow library, and will organise mutual help groups.

We will have Clément Delafargue as speaker with his talk “It’s (always) traverse”:
In the fun world of typed functional programming, a function named traverse has become a meme, due to its wide range of use.
It often goes like this:
— How do I-
— It’s traverse
All this may be a bit too abstract, so we’ll go over a few cases where it was, indeed, traverse.
- async calls
- data validation
- conditional execution
- parser combinations
Going over all these examples will be a great excuse for learning more about what makes traverse actually tick: applicative functors.
Clément Delafargue is working as Senior Software engineer at Datadog, he has a wide ranging experience as Tech Lead, CTO, trainer, and consultant. And more importantly he’s shipped Haskell to prod for years (no cap)
