Looking for an Exchange Software Engineer

Dear Discourse,

Bitnomial operates an exchange, clearinghouse, and brokerage, regulated in the US by the CFTC, in the space of commodity derivatives. The entirety of its backend is written in Haskell!

Bitnomial is currently looking for an exchange software engineer, which is a Haskell software engineering role focused on working on Bitnomial’s financial exchange and clearinghouse.

There is a strong preference for someone willing to work out of the Chicago office, but I am told that this could be a remote role for the right candidate. In doubt, I encourage you to apply!

Feel free to DM me if you have specific questions about working at Bitnomial!

Sorry for the off-topic, but I thought it was going to be an exchange-student-like position. They host you to do Haskell for a year, and they send someone over to your company in exchange.

Seems like very interesting work! If Bitnomial were to write some stuff about how they use Haskell on their blog (e.g. how they ensure correctness, low latency and high throughput), I’d gladly read it.

I’d love for the team to write technical blog posts, but we’re so busy these days…

However, I’ll be speaking at the Haskell Ecosystem Workshop just before Zurihac about how Servant is used at Bitnomial. These talks are going to be published on YouTube as well down the line.

But i am not located in United State.
Is it possible to work remotly from Italy?

In general, it is possible to be located outside of the US. I’m in Canada, for example. However, whether this would be granted for you depends on your skills and other applicants.
In doubt, I encourage you to apply!
