Well is hiring a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for Haskell and functional programming to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position, with a preference for candidates located in Central Europe.

The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help lead the development of the technology platform at the core of our product. You will collaborate with a team of Haskellers, mobile and backend developers, and data scientists to design and implement features that reach thousands of users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of substantial workstreams, including new user-facing features and improvements to our existing services.
- Contribute to significant platform architectural decisions.
- Help build and maintain internal applications that support our technology platform.
- Promote operational excellence through code reviews, quality assurance, and production monitoring.
- Maintain a focus on security, privacy, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in software delivery using Haskell and functional programming concepts.
- A proven grasp of engineering principles, common tools, design patterns, and systems design.
- Experience building data-driven systems that interact with databases, streaming solutions, and APIs.
- A strong understanding of both microservices and monolith patterns.
- Experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- A good understanding of the HTTP stack and REST APIs.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience with backend-for-frontend (BFF) design, especially for Android and iOS applications.
- Previous experience in a healthcare context.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
