Hoping to get some momentum and keep it going.
Woohoo! Thanks @mchav for taking the lead on this!
Just went through the roadmap
and man thats an audacious attempt. I am not currently doing data related work, but i will try to support you wherever possible.
I wish you all the best @mchav and all this is for the language which we all love.
This is
SO AWESOME! ![]()
Pandas + Jupyter notebooks have been my go to for data processing for a long time. There are things I love about them, but every now and then some messiness in Python trips me up, and I wish there were some way to do what I need with something like Haskell’s type system backing me up. I had not idea that dataFrame and IHaskell existed already. This is great!
Thanks for the paragraph in your blog post where you suggested “Start by using the packages and tell us where they hurt.” I can’t promise much more than that, but I look forward to trying them out. Count yourself one more interested user!
I will utilize this as soon as I can, and hopefully contribute; the mental context switch to numpy and matplotlib is way to expensive. Being able to utilize the type system from data generation all the way to final plot figure is gold worth.
If I ever get the opportunity, can I throw money towards this?
