Bluechip Financial is looking for a Haskell or Scala software engineer to join our backend team.
We are building a loan underwriting backend using a mix of Haskell and Scala services that communicate over Kafka using protobuf. Currently most of our code is Scala written using Cats Effect + Cats MTL in such a way that’s very similar to most Haskell software.
We recently shipped an internal DSL written purely in Haskell to dip our toe in the water and see how a Haskell service in production would go. We’re very happy with how that project has gone and we want to expand our Haskell usage.
The most important thing for us is that a candidate is willing and eager to learn new things, but we prefer that candidates have:
- Haskell, Scala/Cats, Nix experience.
- Kafka experience.
- Cloud experience (AWS/GCP).
